CELEBRATING THIRTY ONE YEARS IN THE GUIDE BUSINESS
Nov. 15, 2016
Crane: Hunting has been up and down, lot's of Cranes around. As long as this weather holds they should hang around.
Geese: Not many geese when the season started but we are starting to see a build up and the numbers should only get better as the season rolls on.
Ducks: We have had some great duck hunts. The playas are holding up even with all the WARM weather we've had. Duck hunting should only get better.
Quail: Quail hunting has been very very GOOD. WE THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT LAST YEAR. I am not sure there aren't more birds this year, if that's possible.
Pheasant: Reports are sounding GOOD. We get to find out Dec. 3
Get a group together and come see us !!!

THE SEASON IS FAST APPROACHING ! HUNTING THAT IS !!
Quick update: Dove season was good not great. Had some really nice hunts and a few that were a little slow. The interesting part of the Dove season was the number of Whitewings we saw. I have hunted in the Panhandle all my life and I have never seen as many Whitewings as we did this year.
Teal season was good, there were lot's of birds here opening weekend and it hunted very well. We still have some nice playa lakes around, not like last year and that may be a blessing. When there is water in every direction it has a way of spreading the waterfowl out in every direction. Rains came at just the right times to keep the playas charged.
Pheasant season should be OFF THE CHARTS!! Everyone is talking about all the pheasant's they are seeing. We have a lease east of Dumas and the owner Says he is seeing hundreds of birds which is a real change from the past few season's. Really excited about this one.
Quail: MY MY !! We thought last year was one of the best we had seen in a long time and it was. From what we are seeing when we are out Dove hunting this should be another OFF THE CHARTS YEAR. The quail are everywhere and I mean everywhere.
Ducks and Geese: We got water so when the waterfowl get here it should be a great season. Our understanding is the Ducks had a good nesting season and I think the Geese were right there with the Ducks.
Sandhill Crane: As always the crane hunting should be great. As I mentioned before we have the playas so there is no reason for them to go anywhere until the playas freeze up.
So as you can tell the hunting prospects LOOK GREAT !! GET YOUR GROUP TOGETHER, PICK A DATE AND JOIN US!!

Ft. Worth: Sure was FUN seeing everyone, old friends and new.
Just got home from Maine, Small mouth Bass fishing and what a beautiful river ( Penobscot River) and the fishing was GREAT!!! BUT IT'S BACK HOME and READY for the HUNTING SEASON. Going out in the morning and check things out. We had RAIN last night and things are looking GREEN and WET ! Yea for our team. Dove season should be FANTISTIC and the Teal are already here so September should be a great start to the 2016-2017 season.

HOT and Hotter
That's what's going on in the Panhandle. We started the spring and first part of summer with some nice rain but the well has gone dry to this point. Since July 7 it's been nothing but 100 degree days and wind. Although it has cooled off today and there is a prospect of rain for the coming week. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
We still have some playas around so if we can get some rain they might just fill up for the fall migration. We have been talking some of our farmers and the prospect for pheasant season is looking very good. There seem to be lot's of Dove around and everyone say's the Quail are everywhere. This might just be another one of those years you want to come to the Panhandle and get in on the FUN!!
We had to increase pricing on our hunts this year so be sure and check out our new pricing.
